La Chiesa

Carissimi parrocchiani,
queste pagine che metto fra le vostre mani, più che il ricordo storico della riapertura al culto della nostra chiesa parrocchiale rinnovata e ampliata, rappresentano un atto d’amore a Maria Santissima, madre di Cristo, la quale, prima sotto il titolo di Madonna del Mare ed ora Madonna di Bonaria, è da sempre la protettrice della nostra frazione, che da tanti amici sento denominare «La Bella»; e insieme un omaggio alla comunità di Cala Gonone, per la sua giovinezza, e pertanto per le sue potenzialità nel campo dei valori umani e dell’accoglienza turistica, ma soprattutto nel campo della grazia e del servizio fraterno all’interno della realtà ecclesiale. La chiesa parrocchiale dal volto nuovo, sia un forte impulso a che queste potenzialità diventino la quotidianità vissuta di tutti i Gononensi.

Dio Padre, per mezzo del Figlio, nella potenza e luce dello Spirito, indichi a noi e al mondo la giusta strada da percorrere nel nuovo millennio .

Un caro affettuoso saluto a tutti e a ciascuno, dal vostro Parroco.

The Church
Dearest parishioners,
These few lines which I am writing to you represent more than just a historical testament to the reopening for worship of our renovated and enlarged parish church; they are an act of love to the most blessed Mary, Mother of Christ, who, before being honoured by the titles of Our Lady of the Sea and Our Lady of Bonaria, was always considered the protectress of our village, and called by many of our friends “The Beautiful One”. At the same time, I pay tribute to the community of Cala Gonone for its youthfulness, and therefore its power to express human values and welcome tourists, and above all for the grace of its fraternal service within the Church. The parish church with its new look ought to be a strong incentive for this potential to be realised in the daily lives of all the people of Gonone.

 May God the Father, through the Son, in the power and light of the Spirit show us and all the world the way to follow in the new millennium.

 A heartfelt, affectionate greeting to each and everyone, from your parish priest.
